Can I put an opt-in form in an email?

The opt in form does not work in the body of an email; it is one of many things not supported by email clients and browsers when it comes to the HTML coding of an email. However, if you want to target specific people you can always send them a direct email (from your email address) linking them to the page where the opt-in form exists and they can sign up that way.
