There are two types of social icons you can add to your email, and it's up to you which ones you use!
The Social Share icons allow your email subscribers to link to your email from their Facebook or Twitter pages. It lets their social network friends and followers take a look at your email, and get to know your business - think of it as a option for digital word-of-mouth.
To add these icons to your email, look for Social Share in the Content Blocks to the left of your email:
Hover over the Social Share content block and click to insert it into your email. You'll probably want it to be pretty obvious in your email, at or near the top most likely. If you change your mind you can move them to any spot you like, just hover over the block and use the up and down arrows to the left of the block.
Since these buttons allow your readers to share your email on their networks, you don't need to link anything up, they're good to go!
Follow Us social icons
You can also add your own social networks to your email so your readers can follow your company on social media. Mouse over the Follow Us content block and click to insert it. You'll want these icons to be pretty easy to find because you want your readers to find you!
Once you've added this block, click on it to edit. You can add social icons for these networks by clicking the +Add dropdown:
Facebook
Twitter
LinkedIn
YouTube
Pinterest
Google+
Instagram
Snapchat
Tumblr
You can add as many or as few as you have, then next to each icon you'll need to add the URL for your page. This is really important, if you don't add your URL your button won't work. To find the url, go to your page and copy the URL you see in your browser. For example, the url for our Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/VerticalResponse.
You can also change the button style. Hover over the icon block and click to edit. Then select the Style tab on the left. You can adjust the icon width, spacing, and more!
Not a social networker? A few templates have follow icons in them but you can remove them from your email. Hover over the content block with the icons, then click Delete on the right hand side of the block.
