When is Campaign History for my Leads and Contacts updated with VerticalResponse email data?

Campaign History is a standard object in Salesforce found under both Leads and Contacts. When sending an email through VerticalResponse, the Campaign History will be updated under the following circumstances.

  • The list was created from a Salesforce Campaign. On your List page,  these show as List Type Salesforce Campaign (This will appear in parentheses after your list name.)
  • The Salesforce History option to update Leads and Contacts was selected on the last step of the email launch process. Conversely, if you want to prevent updates to your Campaign History, be sure to uncheck this box when launching your email.

The Member Status under the Campaign History displays a status of sent, bounced, opened, clicked or unsubscribe, but only if these values we added as Member Status Values to the Campaign prior to sending the email. To add these values, follow these steps.

  1. Go to and click on the Campaign used to create the list
  2. Click Advanced Setup
  3. Click Edit and the Add More option to add each of the following; bounced, opened, clicked and unsubscribed

On future mailings for lists created against this Campaign you will find the current member status updated in the Lead and Contact Campaign History.
