Can I search my lists by first name or last name instead of just email address?

Yes, you can definitely search by any standard or custom field. If you go to Lists>List Fields and then Click Searchable for the ones you'd like to be a search field. Then when you go back to Mailing Lists, you can use the Search For drop-down menu to search by the new search field you just chose.
